Chakka Payasam

Tamil New Year or Vishu, one thing is mandatory, food. Not just any food but a variety of specially cooked dishes.So, here are few of my recipes that i prepared today so that i can share it with you all and maybe some of you can prepare it.
Here i start with a sweet dish, Chakka Payasam.

CHAKKA PAYASAM / CHAKKA PRADHAMAN
Ingredients: –
Chakka Varati– 1 cup
Coconut milk– 2 ½ cup (thick)
Ghee– 1 table spoon
Dry coconut pcs– 1 table spoon.
Method: –
The delicious chakka payasam can be prepared in 10 mnts, provided you have the chakka varati (jackfruit jam) and ready-made coconut milk powder.( i use the Nestle company one)
Add 2 glass of warm water to the chakka varati , mix it well to get a smooth paste. Take a deep vessel, pour the paste and allow it to boil for 3-4 mnts. Cut the dry coconut into small pieces. Take 1 ½ cup of coconut milk powder add, 2 ½ cups of warm water and stir it well without any lumps. Now add this coconut milk into the boiling paste and mix well. Lower the heat to medium and boil it further for 5-6 mnts. Heat the ghee in a pan and fry the coconut pieces till they turn red in colour. pour this into the boiling payasam. Chakka payasam is ready.
